The recent MIA Business Conference included a talk on the rapid expansion and applications of 3D printing. This included the fact that it is now possible (using enzymes) to actually create a hamburger using a 3D printer! The debate naturally came up about where musical instruments might fit into this new technology. 3D Printing Solutions in Australia distribute Polymaker filaments and have just created a fully functioning 3D printed electric guitar. There have already been violins, saxophones, trombones and drums made using the technology, as well as accessories such as mouthpieces.
