Musikmesse 2017 update!

Following feedback from last month’s new-look Musikmesse, organisers have announced a shift in opening times for the 2017 show.

Having consulted with several exhibitors from this year’s outing – the first to incorporate the much talked about ‘new concept’ – organisers have essentially pushed the show back by one day from this year’s Thursday to Sunday format. As such, Musikmesse 2017 will run from Wednesday, April 5th to Saturday, April 8th.

Prolight+Sound will retain the same opening hour next year, running from Tuesday, April 4th to Friday, April 7th, meaning there will be a three-day overlap for the two shows.

In addition to exhibitor feedback, the decision to change the dates was also precipitated by a notable drop-off in attendance on the Sunday this year.

“As an international trade-fair company, with a commitment to the sustainable long term, we see the on-going development of our events as an integral part of our work,” said Stephan Kurzawski, senior vice president of Messe Frankfurt. “The new concept for Musikmesse is part of a dynamic process. We have listened to what people are telling us and we shall continue to listen, in order to adapt to the requirements and expectations of the industry.

Despite doubts about Musikmesse’s trade show credentials following the introduction of the ‘new concept’, which saw the show open its doors to the public for the duration, this year’s outing was generally regarded as a success. A number of new exclusive B2B features impressed international trade visitors by offering quiet and relaxed environments in which to do business.
