Packaging company makes Fender Strat out of cardboard!!

Building guitars out of unusual materials is nothing new—great sounding guitars can be made with non-traditional woods, or even with materials like carbon fibre that are not only highly resonant, but mostly immune to the temperature and humidity fluctuations that can potentially damage or detune traditional instruments.

Some people build guitars out of weird materials just for the sake of novelty. For instance, to demonstrate that the quality of a guitar’s sound is dependent on far more than just the quality of its woods.

Fender Guitars, in collaboration with Signal Snowboards, have made a custom Statocaster out of cardboard. And it’s not just a bunch of cardboard made to look like a guitar—you can put strings on it and actually play it!!

Not only does the guitar play, but it has even received the Certificate of Authenticity from Fender.
