SAVE THE DATE: National Learn to Play Day 2016

The 2016 National Learn to Play Day will be held on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th March.

Organised by music charity Music for All, National Learn to Play Day encourages retailers across the country to offer free musical instrument lessons in a bid to get more people playing music.

Once again, over 100 music shops and venues will be taking part in the initiative.

This year’s Learn To Play Day had its most successful year yet, with 129 venues taking part and over 12,000 lessons given.

The amount of media coverage also saw an increase. 22 million media impressions got involved, a huge increase in comparison to last year’s 12 million. Sky Arts also paid a visit to The Southbank Centre to film the Fender event at the Royal Festival Hall.

National Learn to Play Day ambassadors include the likes of Harry Hill, Gareth Malone OBE, Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Fearne Cotton, Ace (Skunk Anansie), Aaron Spears (Usher), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Lower Than Atlantis, Lawson, Al Murray, the Cast of Once, local MPs and many others,
